Meet Snake in the Grass
Meet our latest character in progress: Snake in the Grass!
Notice how I said "progress." We're still hammering out a few details about him. Mainly his design, but I wanted to show you what we had on him so far:
Snake in the grass is the head hancho of the evil super villain corporation Meg and Margo work for. He still views super villainy as an art; a game of cat and mouse. You spend weeks developing an elaborate plan, make sure it's filled with holes, let the hero chase you, stop you, then dash away in a daring escape before he hauls your ass to prison. It's almost romantic, in his eyes.
Unfortunately, his business partners don't see eye to eye with him on this.
They're in it for the financial gain, not to express themselves. Which leads to tension in the work place (and plot, but more on that when we figure out where we're going with it ;) )
Snake in the Grass is also relies heavily on his hunky assistant, Dr. Fabio. He has a bit of a man crush on him.
He's egotistical (I have a theory that all artist are ego-maniacs, you see), snobbish, a brat, kinda gay, dramatic and generally, an annoying person to work for.
Sucks for Margo and Meg.
Here's a doodle Meg drew for me on facebook of him (Yes, you finally get to see something Meg drew!) :

Her face book doodle above was based off these rough sketches I did below:

I haven't figured out how I want to go about his costume yet...I'm thinking a suit. A very funky suit. With snake skin boots!
Comments? Critiques? Anything at all?

Margo and Meg - Character Designs

Meet the stars of our temporarily untitled web comic in progress; Margo and Meg!
Margo is on the left, Meg is on the right.
These designs are by no means absolute. I'm sure they'll undergo billions of changes over time.
Meg and I will post character bios later. I just wanted to share a drawing with you lot. Just if you were curious as to what the comic might actually look like...
More to come ;)

Rough Story Idea
Meg speaking...
This is very basic and rough idea the two of us had for our first storyline. Plot elements and characters haven't all been figured out yet, so count on this to go through a lot of changes before we get the final version down. Thanks!
In an attempt to promote their comic as well as have some good old nerdy fun, Meg and Margo plan on attending a local comic convention, Ninja Wizard Con. The only fault in this arrangement is that the annual Super Villain Convention, which they are required to participate in, is scheduled at the same time. Margo is hell-bent on shirking her responsibilities, insisting that spreading the word about their glorious creation is more important than anything else. Meg is looking forward to the comic con as well, but is a little more hesitant than her partner as to which event takes top priority, claiming that if they got caught at the Ninja Wizard, their boss Snake In The Grass would kill them (literally). As a compromise, Margo suggests they hire two hobos to take their place at the Super Villain Convention. They continue to the comic con.
Meanwhile, our favorite throw-away character of a superhero, [yet to be named] and his fretful sidekick also arrive at the comic con. [yet to be named] is convinced that they are at the national Superhero Convention (conveniently at the same time as the other two events), despite his sidekick's insistence that they maybe in the wrong place. He is silenced by [yet to be named], however, who tells him that he's being absurd (and also to cut his hair). Sidekick continues to whine, but [yet to be named]'s interest is more focused on chasing down two pimply teens dressed as the popular super villains "Dr. Hitler" and "The Commi Bastard."
As Meg and Margo promote the hell out of their comic, Meg spots [yet to be named] pummeling the two kids while trying to find the girl's room. Her bladder problem forgotten, she races back to Margo and tries to tell her that their are *real* superheroes at the con; a superhero that must know who they work for and is just itching to throw them in the clink (even though the dim-witted super zero has no idea they exsist, but our dear Meg doesn't know this). Margo tries to reason with Meg, explaining that [yet to be named] is not really at the con, and that it's just on of his fans cosplaying. She continues to try and sell their comic while Meg continues to fret.
Tension rises when Snake in the Grass and his hunky assistant Dr. Fabio visit the con! Snake in the Grass is in desperate search for merchandise bearing his image and a following of fanboys (He had a tiff with a group of throw away super villain characters over how big his fandom was at the office.) Meg spots her ill tempered boss and flips a shit.
Meg is now a complete wreck, and is begging Margo to leave. Margo has had it up to "here" with Meg's insistent blubbering. She decides to prove once and for all that their boss is no where near. And nor is this super hero fellow! Margo knows her hot-headed boss all to well, and if it is indeed him, he'll go ape-shit when she throws a rock at him.
Well...it turns out Meg was right, because "ape-shit" is putting it mildly. The whole con goes from an innocent gathering of nerds, to a super hero vs. super villain smack down!
Meg ( feeling a little smug) and Margo (feeling a little sheepish) decide that it's time to pack up and see if they can't still catch the Super Villain Convention.
Thoughts? Comments? Constructive Criticism?

The Low Down
This is actually a blog where the lovely Meg Casey and I post our progress on our latest half baked idea; a web comic.
A web comic that isn't about two roomates who play obscure video games all day! A web comic that goes back to it's roots, and is about a comic book.
Or a comic book in the making...
Our story centers around two recent college graduates and art majors, Margo and Meg, who are broke and are looking for a means of quick money and inspiration. That's when they lay an egg, sit on it, and hatch a plan; they'll apply to work as henchmen for the biggest super villain corporation, and write a comic book about all the super villains they meet on the job.
But Meg finds super villainy a bit more appealing than she ought to. And her new career goals for herself might just threaten the comic book.
Not to mention there's an onslaught of super villains that would stone cold kill these bitches if they ever got caught...
Meg and I will post sketches, character designs, sample pages, sample stories, drafts and other goodies periodically, and eventually you'll get to see the whole finished comic!
